The Faculty of Medicine of Monastir organizes postgraduate education (third cycle) within the Masters Professional Certificates and further studies:
Professional Master of Ergonomics:

Registration for this year 2011 is for students in second year of the master (class 2010/2011)

The Faculty of Medicine of Monastir organizes for the first time in Tunisia, a 3rd cycle university education in ergonomics. This course is designed for multiple players (doctors, engineers, psychologists, sociologists, human resource managers, ...) to adapt the work to the individual.
OBJECTIVES

The ergonomics training will gain knowledge in:

methodology ergonomic
Ergonomics of the physical and mental activity,
ergonomic sensory communication,
ergometry,
development work.


LENGTH

The sessions of training and education as well as company visits are scheduled every Thursday priori from 14 am to 18 pm, class attendance is mandatory. This course lasts four semesters with one month internship.

VALIDATION

The examinations are held during each academic year in two sessions, one main and a catch-up. The written and oral tests cover all the taught curriculum, and the defense of a thesis validates the final admission.
Professional Master of Geriatric Psychiatry:

TARGET AUDIENCE:

. Doctors: general practitioner, geriatrician, psychiatrist, neurologist and any specialty related
. Residents of related medical specialties.
. Other health professionals (psychologists, sociologists ..)
PROGRAM:
Theory:

Module 1: General aspects: epidemiological, psycho dynamic, legal, health economics.
Module 2: Key: physiological, genetic, pharmacological.
Module 3: Clinical aspects: the third major neuropsychiatric disorders age.
Module 4: Therapeutic aspects: biological, psychological and institutional.
PRACTICAL:

Courses are taught throughout the academic year, the site of the Faculty of Medicine of Monastir, due to a weekly teaching (2 classes per week).
For some modules an open distance learning is proposed.
One month:

It takes place in a university hospital department of psychiatry after approval by the coordinator of the Master. It is supervised by at least one teacher.
At the end of the course, students must complete a training record book, including at least four observations of patients followed during the internship (supervised) with a statement and discussion semiological diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic.
REVIEWS:

The organization of examinations is governed by the general regulations of the examinations of the Faculty of Medicine of Monastir. Two examination sessions are planned: a main and a catch-up with each of the written tests on all modules taught.
Thesis STUDIES:

The realization of a memory graduation is necessary for obtaining the Master's Degree in "Geriatric Psychiatry". The subject of memory may include a research epidemiological, clinical or biological or psychosocial analysis of clinical observations. The student is supervised by at least one teacher. The problem, objectives and methodology of the work must first be notified by the coordinator of the Master.
The defense of the thesis must take place within one year from the date of announcement of results of eligibility for the Master.
